Greek language course in Epidavros level 3

In this course you will learn to communicate in Greek at a very practical level.
You will learn to enlarge your vocabulary and you may come up with things you’d like to say but are not able to express yet. The course set-up is very practical by means of homework excercises.
The teacher Kóstas Mangélis will explain the use of the present, past and future forms of the active and passive verbs. Revision exercises of the cases and the articles. Adjectives and conjunctions.
He will improve your pronunciation, pay attention to the stress of words, offer grammar exercises and correct them and speak Greek to you at your personal level so you can practice listening.
Greek primary school-books and other methods will be used for that purpose.
Karen de Vries will teach you in the afternoons how to speak Greek with a little knowledge of the language. We’ll also use walkmans to improve listening abilities and get practical instructions like doing a role-play, and get narrating instructions.
Dictionaries and other school related materials will be available, but you’re given the advice to carry your own familiar books. There will be plenty of opportunities to practice your Greek in the village itself.
This 8-day course comprises 24 hours of lessons within a program of different cultural activities such as a visit to both theatres and enough spare time to enjoy Greek country-life.
Only in July there is a market with all the local products.
Dependent on the summerprogram we might visit a performance at the theatre of Epidavros, where during the summer festival the classic tragedies and comedies will be performed every weekend.
The lessons will be taught at the Pevkotheatro, a small open-air theatre overlooking the harbour, in the shade of two huge pine-trees.

Course instructors: Kostas is a Greek teacher and will guide you through the lessons. He does speak a bit of English, but of course he’s there to communicate in Greek with the participants. Karen de Vries speaks Greek and will help you to speak, to understand and to say many things with the few words you already know. She will be supporting the organization and accompany the excursions. She speaks Dutch as well as English, German and Greek.
